Mery López-Gallo, renowned broadcaster, radio producer, and master of ceremonies at Univision, has long been a pivotal figure in the San Diego and Baja California region, where her work has significantly strengthened the binational connection.

Raised in Baja California, Mery began her professional journey as Director of Tourism for the City of Rosarito Beach, a role that marked the beginning of her commitment to the community. Her passion for communication and her interest in issues affecting border communities led her to become the voice behind De Viva Voz, a weekly program broadcast on KLQV/Amor 102.9 FM and KLNV/Que Buena 106.5 FM. In this space, Mery addresses crucial issues in the company of Hispanic leaders from both sides of the border, including legal assistance, binational health, domestic violence and social problems such as alcoholism.

Throughout her career, Mery has received countless recognitions highlighting her dedication and contributions to the community. She was awarded the KPBS Local Hero Award, an honor that celebrates her commitment to community activism. In addition, she has won multiple Achievement in Radio awards from the San Diego Broadcasters Association and received the prestigious national MADD Media Award. Her outstanding work was also recognized by the San Diego Ad Club, which presented her with the San Diego Hispanic Marketing Lifetime Achievement Award, while the San Diego Padres team honored her with the Community Award.

Mery has served on several advisory boards and played an honorary role as special advisor to the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME). For three years, she was the eyes and ears of Mexican officials at the border, strengthening ties between San Diego and Baja California. Recently, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) selected her as the official voice of its I-94 Tourist Visa Program informational video for social media, again highlighting her impact on the binational community.
