President & CEO of Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber – Joe Aldaz

2 mins read

Joe Aldaz serves as the President and CEO of the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber, a role in which he has demonstrated unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth and empowering the Hispanic business community. Under his leadership, the Chamber was recognized as the 2022 United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) “Small Chamber of the Year,” a prestigious honor reflecting the organization’s outstanding contributions to small businesses. In 2023, Joe was further recognized as “CEO of the Year” by the Association of Colorado Chambers of Commerce, solidifying his reputation as a transformative leader.

Aldaz’s path to this influential role is marked by a distinguished career dedicated to service, leadership, and community development. In 2023, he retired from his position as Program Manager for Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) Onward to Opportunity Colorado career skills program. This nationally acclaimed program provides professional certification training to transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses, ensuring they have the tools necessary to succeed in the civilian workforce. His transition to a full-time executive position at the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber represents his deep-rooted belief in “Service before Self,” a guiding principle that has shaped his post-military career.

A Vision for Prosperity and Growth

When asked about what excites him most about leading the Hispanic Chamber, Aldaz highlights the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of Hispanic business owners and entrepreneurs. “Providing critical business resources to the emerging Hispanic market is transformative,” he notes. “By enabling growth, prosperity, and generational wealth, we are not only strengthening individual businesses but uplifting entire communities.” This mission-driven approach underscores the Chamber’s role as a catalyst for economic equity and sustainable development.

The Rising Impact of Hispanic Entrepreneurs

Aldaz is particularly proud of the burgeoning Hispanic business community in Colorado Springs. “Our local Hispanic entrepreneurs are part of an inspiring and rapidly emerging market,” he explains. They are beginning to reshape the small business ecosystem, driving innovation, and contributing significantly to our regional economy.

Central to this growth is the Chamber’s Avanzar Business Accelerator Program, a unique initiative that stands as the only economic development effort of its kind in the region. Through Avanzar, Hispanic entrepreneurs gain access to vital tools, mentorship, and resources needed to grow and scale their businesses. “We are not just providing services; we are building the infrastructure necessary for long-term success and competitiveness,” Aldaz emphasizes.

Expanding Support for Hispanic Business Owners

Aldaz believes that continued investment and collaboration are essential to furthering the success of Hispanic entrepreneurs. “Expanding the small business toolkit for local Hispanic Chambers is critical,” he says. Programs like Avanzar and Elevate Together, which provide funding, mentorship, and technical assistance, exemplify the kind of initiatives that drive meaningful change.

He advocates for a more integrated approach between corporate partners and local chambers. “There needs to be a top-down alignment,” Aldaz explains. “For example, if Wells Fargo is a corporate partner of the USHCC, that relationship should extend to its local branches, ensuring consistent support for Hispanic chambers and businesses at the grassroots level.” This strategic alignment, he believes, will amplify the impact of national initiatives and foster stronger, more resilient local economies.

A Legacy of Service and Leadership

Joe Aldaz’s leadership exemplifies the power of vision, dedication, and collaboration. His efforts at the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber are not only transforming the landscape for Hispanic businesses but also paving the way for a more inclusive and prosperous future. Through innovative programs and steadfast advocacy, Aldaz continues to champion the growth and success of Hispanic entrepreneurs, embodying the values of service and community that define his remarkable career.
