This past Friday, La Revista Binacional had the immense honor of attending the 2025 NHMC (National Hispanic Media Coalition) Impact Awards, a night that truly lived up to its name. Held in the amazing Beverly Wilshire Beverly Hills Hotel, the event brought together some of the most influential Latino voices in entertainment, media, and advocacy. As proud guests at T-Mobile’s table, we were not only inspired by the excellence celebrated on stage but also by the powerful energy of a community continuing to uplift, challenge, and break barriers.
From the moment we stepped into the venue, there was a palpable sense of pride and resilience—an unmistakable reminder that Latino creators, storytellers, and advocates are not just participating in culture, they are shaping it. Congratulations to GLENDA MARTINEZ, co-chair of the DINNER COMMITTEE.
Celebrating the 2025 Honorees
This year’s NHMC Impact Awards honored an incredible lineup of trailblazers whose work continues to elevate Latino representation in mainstream media. Co-hosted by Al Madrigal and Jessica Marie Garcia, they made sure we had a great time.
Among the esteemed award recipients were:

- COBRA KAI: who received the ENSEMBLE Impact Award where we got to hear from Xolo Maridueña with his charming personality. Cobra Kai reflects the richness of diversity on tv.
- PHIL LORD: who was honored with the VISIONARY Impact Award for his longtime work supporting young Latino talent and using his platform to address issues affecting our community. His speech impacted all of the attendees.
- REY MISTERIO: recipient of the LEGEND Impact Award, celebrated for both his sports entertainment and representation across generations.
- ISABELA MERCED: recognized with the NEXT GENERATION Impact Award, representing the next generation of Latino excellence with her leading roles in The Last of Us—a highly acclaimed series.
- DANIELLA PINEDA: awarded the OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE Impact Award, whose amazing portrayal of Anais in Amazon MGM Studios & Artists Equity’s, THE ACCOUNTANT 2.
- CRIS ABREGO: awarded the LEADERSHIP Impact Award, for his achievements as an entrepreneur, entertainment executive and award-winning creator and tv producer.
- ACAPULCO: awarded the AUTHENTIC STORYTELLING Impact Award, for a great and funny comedy series.

Each speech delivered on that stage was more than just an acceptance—it was a declaration of purpose. These honorees reminded us that representation is not a trend; it’s a responsibility, a call to amplify unheard voices and build bridges through storytelling.
A Special Thank You to T-Mobile
La Revista Binacional extends heartfelt gratitude to T-Mobile for hosting us at their table. Their ongoing commitment to inclusion, innovation, and community empowerment is evident not only in their business practices but also in their active support of platforms that elevate diverse voices.
Sharing space with thought leaders, creatives, and changemakers at T-Mobile’s table was a reminder that corporate allies play an essential role in building pathways for marginalized communities. Their investment in Latino excellence is not only appreciated—it’s necessary.
The Power of Latino Representation in Entertainment
The 2025 NHMC Awards were more than a celebration of individual success—they were a powerful affirmation of the collective strength of Latinos in entertainment. Our stories are no longer on the sidelines. We are in front of the camera, behind it, in writers’ rooms, in boardrooms, and now, more than ever, in positions of power to influence the narratives being told.
Representation matters—not just because it reflects who we are, but because it defines how the world sees us. The honorees and attendees at NHMC are proof that when Latinos are given the space and support to lead, we don’t just meet the moment—we elevate it.
The NHMC, whose CEO and leader, BRENDA VICTORA CASTILLO, is doing a great job in making sure our community is represented with dignity. “Our stories will not only be told but centered in every space we enter. We are the story”.
Our Ongoing Mission: A Voice for the Voiceless

While the night was a celebration, it was also a sobering reminder of the work that lies ahead. Across the city of Los Angeles that same night, immigrant communities—especially Latino immigrants—were facing inhumane treatment, policy rollbacks, and an increasing climate of hostility.
La Revista Binacional reaffirms our commitment to being a communication tool and a platform for exposing the injustices inflicted upon immigrants throughout the country. We will not remain silent. We will continue to document, report, and amplify the voices of those who are too often ignored or silenced.
Whether it’s through print, digital platforms, or live community events, our mission is clear: to be a mirror and a megaphone for the Latino community, and to stand in solidarity with immigrants fighting for dignity, respect, and justice.
Looking Ahead

Attending the NHMC Impact Awards was not just a privilege—it was a call to action. A call to keep showing up. A call to keep telling our stories. A call to protect and defend our communities from injustice.
We walked away from Friday night with full hearts, renewed purpose, and an even stronger commitment to our community. Inspired by the honorees, supported by partners with our same beliefs, and united in our values, we look forward to continuing our work on the page and in the streets.
To our readers, our community, and our partners: thank you. Let’s keep making noise. Let’s keep breaking ceilings. Let’s keep making history—together.
