Drawing from a wide range of experiences, he is a firm believer in the power of collaboration and intentional leadership. Under his direction, the Chamber continues to champion equitable opportunities, strengthen regional partnerships, and promote sustainable economic progress.

What makes you proud or excited to lead a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce?

Leading the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is both a privilege and a responsibility that I approach with great enthusiasm. What excites me most is the opportunity to uplift individuals and businesses by amplifying their voices and connecting them to resources that promote long-term success. Our Chamber operates at the intersection of culture, commerce, and innovation. Every day, I witness how cultural identity and entrepreneurship can complement each other to drive meaningful change in our region. It’s incredibly rewarding to help shape a more inclusive economic landscape where Hispanic business owners can thrive, not only as contributors but as leaders and innovators within our community.

What should more people know about your local community of Hispanic business owners and entrepreneurs?

Tucson’s Hispanic business community is one of the most dynamic and culturally rich ecosystems in the country. What sets it apart is not just the entrepreneurial spirit, but the deep sense of heritage, resilience, and connection to the region. These businesses are more than economic entities — they are reflections of family values, cultural pride, and a long-standing commitment to serving others. From small family-owned operations to fast-growing enterprises, Hispanic entrepreneurs in Southern Arizona are weaving their identities into the very fabric of the local economy. Their stories and contributions deserve greater recognition, as they play an essential role in driving both innovation and social cohesion in our region.

How can we better support Hispanic business owners and entrepreneurs?

Support must be both intentional and multi-dimensional. First, it’s essential to foster an environment where Hispanic entrepreneurs feel seen, heard, and valued. That starts with improving access to capital, mentorship, bilingual resources, and culturally relevant business education. Equally important is building inclusive networks that connect Hispanic business owners to new markets and policy decision-makers. We also need to champion representation in leadership — ensuring that Hispanic voices are included in economic development conversations at all levels. At the Chamber, we are working every day to break down systemic barriers and create equitable opportunities so that all entrepreneurs, regardless of background, can succeed. Supporting Hispanic-owned businesses is not just good for our community — it’s vital to the economic health and cultural vibrancy of our entire region.

Under Rob Elias’s leadership, the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce continues to be a driving force for progress, equity, and economic empowerment across Southern Arizona. His vision for a more connected, inclusive, and prosperous community serves as a model for chambers nationwide. With unwavering dedication to lifting up Hispanic voices and creating lasting opportunities, Elias is not only shaping the future of commerce — he is helping to redefine what inclusive leadership looks like in today’s America.
