Adria Arjona Torres was born on April 25, 1992, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but from an early age, she learned that the world could be her home. The daughter of former Miss Puerto Rico Leslie Torres and famous Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona, Adria grew up surrounded by airplanes, concert stages, and the music that filled her father’s tours. Her childhood was split between Mexico City and travels throughout Latin America, a cultural blend that shaped her identity and her insatiable curiosity.
At 12 years old, she moved to Miami, and as a teenager, she decided to chase her dreams on her own. At 18, she landed in New York City with a suitcase, big aspirations, and the clear goal of becoming an actress. She enrolled at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, working as a waitress and hostess to pay her bills. Her determination was so strong that she even cold-called production companies pretending to be her own agent just to get auditions.
First steps on screen
Her debut came in 2012 with the short film Loss, followed by appearances in series like Unforgettable, Person of Interest, and True Detective. But the role that put her on the map arrived in 2017: she played Dorothy Gale in Emerald City, a dark and modern reimagining of the classic Oz tale.
Soon after came Anathema Device in the hit series Good Omens (2019), and her jump to film with titles like Pacific Rim Uprising, Triple Frontier, and 6 Underground. With her blend of charisma, strength, and authenticity, Adria began making her mark in Hollywood.
From Hollywood to the Star Wars universe
In 2022, she shined as Bix Caleen in Andor, one of the most acclaimed series in the Star Wars franchise. Her character, a fiercely principled rebel, allowed her to showcase a more intense side and win over a legion of fans. That same year, she starred in the new Latin adaptation of Father of the Bride, cementing her reputation as a versatile actress.
In recent years, Adria has continued to land major projects: Hit Man, alongside Glen Powell, and Blink Twice, directed by Zoë Kravitz, confirmed her as one of the most promising Latina talents of her generation.
More than an actress: a voice for Latin representation

Adria doesn’t just act; she speaks out for diversity in the industry. She rejects stereotypical roles and seeks complex characters that reflect the richness of Latin identity. “A Latina is so much more than just a physical appearance,” she’s said in interviews.
Personal life and new horizons
In her personal life, Adria made headlines for her relationship with actor Jason Momoa, with whom she made her red-carpet debut in 2025. She is also the face of major global fashion and beauty campaigns, though her true passion remains acting.
Today, with projects like Los Frikis (where she also serves as a producer) and new collaborations with A24, Adria continues to grow, proving that her success is no accident—it’s the result of talent, discipline, and a genuine connection to her roots.
