I stop to take a deep breath and try to assimilate what I experienced just moments ago.
The occasion called for an adventure, a ticket to treasure a moment in our lives. It is worth the tour if between flashes we can say goodbye to one of the greatest artists that the history of music has given us:
SIR ELTON JOHN.
He takes the yellow path to places where the things of the heart dwell. Today he decides to say goodbye and with a slow and tired stride he arrives and takes possession of his piano, and of each one of us who were at the show.
With his small and extravagant figure, how could that voice come out like that? Where does he come from? He comes traveling in a rocket to the most magical moments of our lives.
Sir Elton arrives on his farewell tour, accompanied by extraordinary musicians, presenting his greatest hits in almost symphonic versions. We see him sitting at the piano and traveling through images of his life, of his stages, of his influence on world pop culture. It seems easy but it has been over 50 years. Far from those nights at the Troubadour in which he flew while he played his piano, but close to those masses of people who honor him dressed in glitter and feathers, with outlandish glasses to let him know he is admired, to bid him farewell, standing and with long applause.
With tears that come unintentionally, just like that, combined with smiles and the surprise of not believing what this man does to our senses.
Goodbye Elton.
Be happy in that world that you have created, between crocodiles and platform shoes, here I will continue humming “Your Song“, the one that always makes me so happy when I listen to it.
