The actress raises her voice through her acting work, in the short film directed by David Rodríguez, a project that tours at the San Diego Latino Film Festival, Edition 31.

San Diego, Ca.- On the first day of the San Diego Latino Film Festival in its 31st Edition, some celebrities paraded among them, the actress and teacher Adriana Barraza to present the short film ‘El Tesoro’ alongside the film’s producer Edward Enriquez Cohen and director David Rodríguez.
“At the time that David wrote this short film with this fantastic story, and it came to me through Edward and David, I never doubted it, I wanted to talk about searching mothers, and this was the perfect way, because in addition to being a moving story, it was working with two dear and professional friends before anything else,” Adriana Barraza shared at a press conference in San Diego.

There have been many discouraging stories of missing people, so what David was looking for was to, through fiction, provide a little hope to Mexican society, to all the families who have a missing relative and those mothers and fathers who are looking for a son “With this story I invite you to talk, and give them that gift of meeting and searching for their treasures,” she said.
“This story is seen from both sides, of the missing and of the hitmen, everyone has family, and suffers from this terror that happens at an international level. Families are left without a voice, because no one wants to talk about it, and that is the biggest problem,” commented Edward, adding that a co-founder of Los Armadillos (searchers) will be at the presentation at SDFF.

“Since this short had its premiere, we had the presence of a mother from the collective ‘Por amor a ellxs’, and where the short is presented, mothers, some group or family are always invited. On March 15, for the presentation of ‘El Tesoro’ at the Latin Film Festival, two mothers with missing children will accompany us. For us, their presence is very important,” Barraza added.
Synopsis: ‘Clemencia’, the character she plays in “El Tesoro”, a short fiction film directed and written by David Rodríguez Estrada, granted Adriana Barraza the opportunity to fulfill her wish to show solidarity and provide hope to the searching mothers of the victims of forced disappearances in Mexico. In this 21:19 minute short film, she plays a woman who, upon discovering the series of crimes her son committed as a hitman, decides to “repensate” a little for the damage to the mothers and relatives of those affected, helping them locate their remains. .

“The topic of searching mothers is something that affected me and the family a lot, and I always wanted to write about it. I had an uncle who disappeared in 2004, he was kidnapped and we never heard from him again. And well, since I was a child I have admired Adriana Barraza, and I always thought it would be a dream to work with her, I wanted her to be the protagonist of this story, she is like a Mexican superhero, who will bring her treasures to the families,” he concluded. David with Así es la Nota, “El Tesoro” being his fifth short film in his film career.
“El Tesoro” was presented on March 15 and 16 at the AMC Mission Valley 20 movie theaters.
