December 12, commemorates 200 years of the bilateral relationship between Mexico and the United States.
As one of the many celebrations that took place that day in our community, the Consulate of Mexico in San Diego invited us to appreciate a collection of photographs by Harry Crosby, a high school teacher in San Diego as well as a photographer in the sixties.
Crosby symbolizes how integrated the binational region is, he falls in love with Baja California and tries to capture it in some photographic collections at that time.
Episodes of “Crosby and his Travesías” are also shown on local channel 22 (equivalent to PBS in the United States, public programming).
On this occasion, we had the opportunity to see his photographic works in an exhibition organized by the Consulate of Mexico in San Diego, where “Tijuana 1964” could be seen.
Thanks to Dr. Paul Ganster, 2022 Ohtli Prize winner, who lent said collection for this occasion and it will later be donated to the Tijuana Historical Archive as a permanent collection.
“Tijuana is everything we imagine… and more”
