- Baja California is one of the states with the greatest industrial dynamism.
At the frame of the 47th edition of the meeting of the National Council of the Maquiladora and Export Manufacturing Industry (Index), some achievements that this sector has had despite the operational complications due to the pandemic were recognized.
The National Councilor of Index, Román Caso, reported that this was the first massive face-to-face event after the pandemic where they met with government authorities and shared points of view to continue working.
The event was held from October 14th to 16th in Mexico City, led by Dr. Luis Manuel Hernández González, president of this organization and a native of Baja California.
“The desire to work and the good intentions were perceived, as well as the recognition of the response that the export industry had in the face of the adversities of the pandemic and the relevance it has in the country’s economy,” he said.
He indicated that they had the presence of federal authorities and rulers of Baja California, Yucatán, and the Head of Government of CDMX, Claudia Sheinbaum, with whom they were able to interact and share those visions that encompass all of Mexico.
“It is recognized that the export industry has a presence throughout the national territory and the capacity to generate an important economic benefit and it can be seen that we need the support of all these entities to be able to continue with the dynamic growth that is being experienced,” he stressed. .
Finally, he added that for Mexico the export industry is an opportunity to become a key player in supply chains worldwide, in addition to the fact that within the framework of the T-MEC, we are a key and vital component for the success that has had this trade agreement.
