With the purpose of training their affiliates, the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco-Servytur) of Ensenada will carry out the face-to-face workshop “Verification Protocol”, in conjunction with the Consumer Defense Attorney (Profeco), on December 7, at the chamber’s facilities.

This was indicated by Dr. Octavio de la Torre de Stéffano, president of Canaco Ensenada, who mentioned that this workshop will be given by Mtro. Oscar Zárate Chávez, area director of the Consumer Defense office in Baja California.

“The objective is for merchants to generate greater confidence in their customers, by obtaining the Distinctive Yellow Seal of Profeco on their measuring devices, by guaranteeing kilos by kilo and liters by liter,” he highlighted.

The leader commented that this type of training is aimed at ensuring that the commercial sector is in compliance with the regulations, which in turn generates the conditions of certainty that both local buyers and tourism seek.

“Hence, this workshop will be for merchants to know their rights and obligations during a Profeco verification visit, and to resolve their doubts,” he noted.

Likewise, if a merchant has already made a request for calibration, it will be recommended that they send it by mail along with the name of the establishment and their address to perform the certification.

The leader of Canaco Ensenada explained that the Yellow Seal of Profeco is a campaign to verify measuring instruments in stores with the aim of taking care of the pocket of consumers, guaranteeing kilos by kilo, and liters by liter.

“The Yellow Seal is important because if a business does not have this badge it means that it does not ship full liters or full kilos, so it is a badge that allows citizens to make a reasoned purchase,” he explained.

To culminate, Dr. Octavio de la Torre extended the invitation to the business and social community to process your Yellow Seal and receive a visit from Profeco verifiers to calibrate their instruments.

Those interested must send their information before December 4 to: atencion@canacoensenada.com.mx, to attend the workshop on December 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Canaco Ensenada facilities.
