Tijuana Verde will bring together 80 projects for the environment in its 7th Environmental Fair

In order for young people to present new projects that contribute to the preservation of the environment in the region, Tijuana Innovadora through Tijuana Verde will hold its 7th Environmental Fair this November 17 at the Bit Center facilities.

During a press conference at the facilities of the Tijuana Development Council (CDT), the director of Tijuana Verde, Ing. Hernando Durán Cabrera, mentioned that the exhibition of 60 projects had been contemplated and more than 100 were registered, so it was done a preselection and the best 80 will be presented.

“In addition to presenting each of the projects, at the fair we are going to have workshops and panels on the theme of water care, the second is related to native plants and the third talks about the importance of the circular economy, in addition to the fact that the President of Tijuana Innovadora, José Galicot Behar will offer a talk about sustainability in the world”, he explained.

He also explained that the world needs this type of events and it is precisely the young people who must promote the corresponding initiatives through their ingenuity, talent and creativity to correct the course in the face of global warming.

For her part, the coordinator of Tijuana Verde, Karla Meraz, indicated that this event is in charge of bringing together public and private high school and university academic institutions so that the ideas are heard from young people.

He stressed that since its inception in 2016, the Environmental Fair has had the participation of more than 13 educational institutions, more than 600 students, 220 projects presented, more than 100 teachers, 32 award-winning initiatives, all in order to promote care for the environment. ambient.

“Currently there is a lot of promotion of environmental education in schools, however, there are no forums where students can present their projects, so the Environmental Fair is an excellent opportunity for children to develop their proposals,” she concluded.
