Anaheim, Ca. Disneyland Resort opens Adventureland at Disneyland Park, so we are excited to share that Adventureland Treehouse, inspired by Walt Disney’s Swiss Family Robinson, opens its doors on November 10, 2023 at Disneyland.
As previously announced, Adventureland Treehouse will pay homage to the original treehouse that Walt Disney and his Imagineers built in 1962 in honor of the film “Swiss Family Robinson.” With the new Adventureland Treehouse, they present a new story for the next generation of park visitors to experience and enjoy.
Among the tree’s massive branches, you’ll find mother’s music room, sons’ nature room, and daughter’s astronomer’s loft. On the grounds there will be a kitchen and dining room, plus the father’s art studio that will display hand-drawn sketches and paintings of each room.
As the story goes, the family created an oasis among the trees, drawing inspiration from nature and using objects found around them. Here, you can collaborate together while pursuing your own individual skills, talents, passions, and interests.
Proud of what they have accomplished and eager to share their way of life with visitors from around the world, the family has spread out the metaphorical welcome mat, inviting you to climb the stone staircase and explore their treetop abode.
Next to the staircase is the house’s iconic waterwheel, which is powered by a small babbling stream nearby. The family created a pulley system to carry water from the stream to the top of the tree, generating the energy needed to power many of their devices and inventions.
Nestled in the highest part of the house, you will find her daughter’s room, as she has illustrated it here in her own abstract style. An admirer of the celestial bodies and their magnitudes, movements and magic, her room offers a clear view of the beautiful night sky. It is here that she spends her time tracking stars, planets and comets with her numerous telescopes, no doubt making new discoveries that she notes in her notebooks, sketches and artistic recreations of hers.
In the mother’s room you will find musical instruments such as harp, lute, guitar and organ, which she plays to fill the home with happy melodies. The twin brothers have filled her room with an incredibly large collection of plants and animals, all living in harmony with each other. Filled with gadgets, appliances and gadgets of his own invention, the father’s studio reflects the entire family’s affinity for exploring the unknown and designing the unimaginable.
