Can we talk about how awesome the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are? I mean, from the 80’s until now, they’ve been a staple in pop culture. It’s crazy to think that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around since the 80’s, and even crazier to think that they’re still going strong in 2023! Over the years, we’ve seen the turtles in a lot of different forms- TV shows and movies that range from awesome to, well, not so great. But finally, FINALLY, we have a TMNT movie that does justice to our favorite heroes.
From start to finish, this movie had everything a TMNT fan could want- amazing fight scenes, awesome origin stories, and personalities for each and every one of the turtles that are hard not to fall in love with. The fight scenes are incredible. Seriously, after the credits roll, we we’re ready to sign up for a kung fu class.
When it comes to the animation, it’s like a blast from the past. It’s reminiscent of the doodles we all used to make in our notebooks when we were little. And while it may take some getting used to, it’s definitely a unique and refreshing approach. And let’s not forget about the soundtrack! The classic rap tunes that play during each scene fit perfectly with the ambiance and really take us back to the 90s. Songs like Ninja Rap, Ante Up (Robbin Hoodz Theory), Shimmy Shimmy Ya, and Brooklyn Zoo (just to name a few) really elevate the movie to a whole new level.
And finally, the CAST! Let us tell you, the cast is absolutely amazing! With stars like Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, John Cena, Ice Cube, Post Malone, and Paul Rudd, it is no wonder that the movie is getting so much attention. But what really caught our attention were the new voices for the turtles. Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Micah Abbey as Donatello, Brady Noon as Raphael, and Shamon Brown as our beloved Michelangelo, all did an outstanding job in bringing the characters to life. We have got to say, though, that Micah Abbey as Donatello was our personal favorite. He was the comedic relief the whole movie, and his voice was just too adorable for words!
The film brings the perfect combination of action, humor, and adorableness that the turtles are famous for, and it’s sure to bring back some awesome memories. This movie is the perfect way to introduce a new generation to the awesomeness of the Ninja Turtles, while also satisfying the diehard fans who have been waiting for this moment.
