Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park

Multicultural and multiethnic celebrations began until February 18, a tribute to Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean traditions, the Year of the Dragon.

Anaheim, Ca.- Through Feb. 18, 2024, Disneyland Resort once again welcomes the multicultural and multiethnic Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure Park. This limited-time event, a tribute to Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean traditions, celebrates the arrival of the Year of the Dragon with food and drink inspired by Asian cuisines, entertainment for all and more.

New this year are Meilin Lee and her mother Ming Lee from Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red,” making their Disneyland Resort debut, and new décor at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa featuring a dragon kite and a baking exhibit.

Guests have the option to purchase the “Sip and Savor Pass” for the purpose of sharing with other guests or used during multiple visits for this year’s Lunar New Year celebration. The pass includes six coupons that can be exchanged for food or non-alcoholic beverages.

  • The Lunar New Year celebration is testing a new way for visitors to redeem their Sip and Savor Pass vouchers. At checkout, visitors can allow an on-site cast member to scan their pass before entering the 4-digit code located on their pass. The remaining number of digital coupons on the pass will be printed on the receipt.

Two specialty carts, Kayla’s Cake and Lady Fortunes, offer more festival treats in Disney California Adventure Park. Downtown Disney District joins the celebration with specialty offerings available for a limited time at Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio, Kayla’s Cake, Naples Ristorante e Bar, Splitsville Luxury Lanes, Tortilla Jo’s and Wetzel’s Pretzels.

Disneyland Resort Hotels celebrate the occasion with themed treats at the Great Hall Cart at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Five Spice donuts at Great Maple, among others.

Entertainment, art and more

  • Meilin Lee and her mom Ming Lee from Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red” make their Disneyland Resort debut welcoming the new year on the path located between Grizzly Peak and Paradise Gardens Park. In this Year of the Dragon, Mushu, from the movie “Mulan” leads the “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession.”

Disney characters such as Mulan and Mushu, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy welcome visitors to Paradise Garden. Chinese designer Guo Pei created the beautiful festival costumes of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

During the Lunar New Year and spring visitors can save on their visits with limited-time ticket offers. Through March 10 (subject to park reservation availability), tickets for children ages 3-9 can visit for as low as $50 per child, with a limited children’s ticket offer***. Eligible Southern California residents have savings for visits through June 2 (tickets subject to blackout dates and park reservation availability) with a special three-day ticket.
