Back in early 2022, two friends (Carlos Flores and Rafael García) were discussing how there was not a binational magazine that addressed the needs of a multi-cultural border. Rather than complain about it, they decided to create a magazine that would cover these issues but neither of them had ever worked or knew how to run a magazine.
It was in May of 2022 that they were able to add the missing piece and invited Gina Dewar to join the team as the Chief Editor and co-partner with them.
La Revista Binacional was born on August 1st, 2022 (as a digital website platform).
La Revista Binacional, is an urban, bilingual, and binational platform that is headquartered in San Diego and Tijuana that highlights binational culture, education, art, gastronomy, economy, immigration, legal issues, charities, and sports.
This platform aims to keep audiences informed of current events and provide information that is beneficial to them. Content is creative, relevant, inspiring, emotional, and educational. It is distributed on various platforms including digital, podcast, social media and now, with this issue, print media.
The three co-founders (business, public relations, and content) could never do it alone without the amazing team: Michelle Gomez, Lucía Delgado, Miguel Palomares, Jose Luis Favela, Andrea Morales, Derrick Ramos, and their input on their area of expertise.
With all these inventive minds together, an amazing magazine was born.
