At the age of twenty-three, a first-generation immigrant and young father embarked on a journey to build a better life in San Diego, California, leaving behind his roots in Tijuana, BC. With a strong drive and a professional background as an intrapreneur, he climbed the corporate ladder, holding senior management positions in the car rental and insurance industries. Fourteen years ago, fueled by ambition and guided by mentors, he decided to establish his insurance agency from the ground up in South Bay, San Diego.
Specializing in business, home, life, and auto insurance, he discovered a deep passion for helping the Hispanic community navigate these essential yet often complex needs. Within a few years, his dedication paid off, and his business flourished, becoming a top agency within the community.
Recognizing the opportunity to serve the Hispanic market further, he expanded into real estate, becoming an agent, and creating a professional multi-service agency that offers both insurance and real estate services. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to acquire two Metro by T-Mobile retail cell phone stores in Imperial Beach, just before the pandemic hit. Despite the challenges, he successfully created job opportunities and opened new avenues for growth.
Another opportunity soon arose when a family-owned jewelry store, in operation for over 20 years, was on the verge of closing. Seeing the potential, he carefully studied the situation and decided to take over the store, becoming a co-owner of Michael’s Jewelers. In just three years, the store has grown and thrived in the East Santee community.
Recently, he joined NewJourney Real Estate as an agent, helping clients buy and sell properties in both the USA and Mexico. With the support of Abraham Vargas, the broker, and Carlos Flores from La Revista Binacional, he is building a team on both sides of the border.
Driven by a desire to grow, uplift the Hispanic community, and achieve the ultimate American Dream—a goal that once seemed impossible—his journey has been nothing short of amazing. Along the way, he has contributed to various organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in San Diego and as a Freemason at Lodge 35, where he helps fellow business owners and professionals achieve their goals and expand their networks.
