His passion for serving his community led him to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). He furthered his education by earning a Master of Comparative Public Policy from Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO México) and later a dual-degree MBA from the University of San Diego and EGADE Business School in Mexico City (Santa Fe).
His career has been marked by significant milestones in both Mexico and the United States. As a former Mexican diplomat, Alvarez represented Mexico in the U.S., advocating for immigrant communities and strengthening diplomatic ties. Later, he served with the U.S. Department of State, representing the United States in Mexico, Canada, and Central America. His efforts were recognized with the prestigious CCE-EFM Award from the Associates of the American Foreign Service Worldwide during an exclusive ceremony at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.—a testament to his impact in international diplomacy.
In 2020, Alvarez was named one of “Las 30 Promesas de Expansión” by Expansión Magazine, an honor celebrating young business leaders shaping the future through innovation and leadership. His dedication to transformative initiatives continues to influence policy, education, and community development.

Alvarez’s passion for education extends to his collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in San Diego and MAAC, where he contributes to the Becas Colibrí MX Evaluation Committee. This initiative provides scholarships to first-generation students of Mexican descent, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their academic aspirations.
