Enrique Meza serves as the San Diego Community Affairs Manager for U.S. Bank, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s community engagement and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. In this capacity, he is responsible for positioning U.S. Bank as a leader in the region, setting the strategic direction for community grants, investments, civic sponsorships, and fostering employee engagement in impactful initiatives. Through his leadership, Enrique ensures that U.S. Bank’s CSR strategy aligns with organizations that drive meaningful change, benefiting the community, employees, and the business sector alike.
Before joining U.S. Bank, Enrique built a distinguished career in financial services and community engagement. He was previously with Mission Federal Credit Union, where he began his tenure in 2016 as a Community Relations Officer. His dedication and expertise led to his most recent role as Communications and Segment Marketing Manager, where he focused on expanding Mission Fed’s outreach and engagement with San Diego’s Hispanic community. His efforts were instrumental in strengthening the credit union’s presence, fostering financial literacy, and enhancing economic opportunities for the Latino population in the region.
Prior to his tenure at Mission Federal Credit Union, Enrique served as Director of Programs at the San Diego Diplomacy Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering global engagement and mutual understanding between the United States and foreign countries. In this role, he was responsible for developing and executing programs that facilitated international collaboration, cultural exchange, and diplomacy, reinforcing San Diego’s reputation as a globally connected city.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Enrique is deeply committed to community service and leadership. He currently serves on the boards of LEAD San Diego and MAAC, and he actively contributes to several advisory committees, including the Southwestern College President’s Advisory Committee, the CEO Advisory Council of Promises2Kids, and the Program Committee for Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties. Additionally, he is an appointed member of the San Diego City-County Reinvestment Task Force, where he works to ensure equitable economic development and financial inclusion for underserved communities.
Recognizing the importance of mentorship and professional development, Enrique has also served as a mentor for Unidos in Finance, a program designed to increase the number of bilingual Latinos working in the financial services industry. His dedication to cultivating future leaders within the Latino community reflects his broader commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
A testament to his leadership and impact, Enrique is a 2023 graduate of the LEAD Impact leadership development program. His peers recognized his outstanding contributions by awarding him the prestigious Herb G.
