Liliana T. Pérez – Palacios has a passion for making a positive difference in the world. She possesses a unique blend of experience and expertise in both the public and private sectors.
She serves as the Sr. Director of Cultural Affairs for the Los Angeles Chargers and is responsible for building strategic partnerships within Southern California’s dynamic and versatile economic, cultural and social sectors. In this role, she is responsible for managing community engagement, especially among the Chargers’ valued neighbors. Her priorities include driving cross-functional alignment of internal divisions to provide optimized benefits to sponsors and fans.
Prior to joining the Chargers, Liliana had made a career in public service, holding senior leadership roles in the office of six Speakers of the California Assembly and the Office of the Governor. After almost 25 years in government, she became an acknowledged expert in creating multisector coalitions to advance legislation in support of local economies and public policy addressing pressing social issues. She also cultivated meaningful relationships with key audiences including other branches of government, business owners, labor, community stakeholders, national and international dignitaries, and more.
She has received numerous awards and recognitions for her leadership and work in activism. Additionally, she is a highly sought after speaker and has been invited to be featured at Empowerment conferences, summits, locally and nationally.
Liliana was awarded the 2023 Outstanding Women of City Club of L.A. recognition; the New Economics for Women – Family Legacy Award; the 2023 South LA Pride Award; Selected by her former boss, Speaker Emeritus Anthony Rendon’s Latino Orgullo honoree; During the 2022 Super Bowl week, Liliana was recognized by the National Football League (NFL) and by People en Español as the 2022 MVP – Women in the NFL award; she was selected by the Pasadena Latino Heritage Committee to serve as their Grand Marshall for the 24th Annual Latino Heritage Parade and Festival; was selected as the Breaking Barriers Awardee by the Ferias Legales Empowered Women, a professional organization of Latino Attorney Community Advocates; She was the 2022 nominee to the L.A. Business Journal Women’s Leadership Symposium & Awards luncheon.
She remains passionate about social justice and civil rights causes and is active with numerous organizations such as the Women in Sports and Events organization, (WISE-LA) and serves in a leadership role as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Equality California (EQCA), Coalition for Humane Immigrant Right of L.A. (CHIRLA); Bienestar Human Services; the Latino Equality Alliance (LEA) and Conga Kids;
She is respected in the political arena resulting in several Commission appointments such as the President of the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Park, the birthplace of L.A. including past appointments such as the Commission on the Status of Women for the City of Los Angeles and on the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Redistricting Commission.
Liliana cherishes quality time as her mother’s caregiver with the love and support of their rescue furry baby, Pitbull mix who thinks he is a lap dog, Chato.
