Verónica Macedo embodies the spirit of Latino excellence through her tireless commitment to community development and her innovative approach to nonprofit work. Born and raised in Mexico City, Verónica embarked on her professional journey with a solid foundation in marketing. She graduated in 2003 from Universidad Anáhuac with a degree in Marketing, setting the stage for a career dedicated to making a positive impact.

Verónica’s professional path began with Yum! Brands, where she honed her marketing skills and gained valuable industry experience. In 2009, she furthered her expertise by earning an MBA from San Diego State University. This advanced education equipped her with the knowledge and strategic thinking necessary to drive impactful change.

One of Verónica’s standout achievements came shortly after completing her MBA. She pioneered the first community outreach program of its kind for San Diego Parents in the Dominican Republic. This groundbreaking initiative demonstrated her ability to bridge gaps between communities and provide essential support where it was needed most. Her work with children and local communities was not just a job—it was a calling. It ignited a profound passion for helping others and reinforced her belief that every child deserves equal care, love, and opportunities.

After a successful career spanning over 15 years in the for-profit sector, Verónica made a pivotal transition to the nonprofit world. Her move was driven by a deep-seated commitment to advancing social causes and supporting community welfare. Since January 2021, she has been serving as the Director of Development and Community Relations at CHICANO FEDERATION. In this role, Verónica is instrumental in securing the organization’s funding, developing strategic partnerships, and implementing a successful revenue program. Her efforts ensure that CHICANO FEDERATION can continue to provide critical services and support to local communities.

Verónica’s contributions extend beyond her professional achievements. She and her husband, Ricardo, are dedicated parents to three wonderful children and make their home in San Ysidro. Her love for her community is evident in both her professional and personal life. Verónica’s dedication to enhancing the lives of those around her and her unwavering commitment to fostering positive change truly exemplify Latino excellence.

In celebrating Verónica Macedo, we recognize not only her professional accomplishments but also her profound impact on the community. Her leadership, compassion, and determination make her a shining example of what it means to excel and inspire as a Latina.
