3rd Edition of the “Cycle of Medical+Health Conferences” will be held in Tijuana

The Tourism and Conventions Committee of Tijuana (Cotuco) announced the hosting of the third edition of the “Medical+Health Conference Series“, whose headquarters will be the Hotel Quartz, located within the New City Medical Plaza complex, where the presence of doctors and managers from all over the country is expected, to train as health clusters.

At a press conference, Lic. Arturo Gutiérrez Sánchez, president of Cotuco, stressed that Tijuana is characterized by spearheading health and wellness tourism at a national and international level, hence the dissemination of events like this is essential.

“It is important for us as a Tourism Committee that well-established organizations have these initiatives, since we are in charge of projecting the activities that promote tourism in its different branches, so it is pleasant to do dumbbells and work together,” he said. .

For his part, Dr. Abraham Sánchez Frehem, president of the Medical+Healt Cluster, said that this is the third edition of the event that aims to train the different clusters related to health tourism, which will take place this October 28th, in person.

“What we seek is to highlight and strengthen the competitive advantages of health tourism services in Baja California, promoting joint reflection among experts on various topics, since the idea is to serve as a forum for good practices,” he said.

For this, the leader commented, issues such as health tourism will be addressed in the bilateral agenda between Mexico and the US; the importance of certifications and accreditations in the health and wellness tourism market, health regulations (certification and association), among others.

He stressed that a program of conferences has been prepared such as “Professional action within the legal framework”, “Role of CAME in the ecosystem of attention to the user of health services”, “What is a cluster”, “Requirements to be promoted by a professional facilitator”, as well as the course “Tools for the development of a health tourism cluster”.

Meanwhile, Dr. Arturo Álvarez Tostado, medical director of New City Medical Plaza, reported that they are a real estate project that has set a precedent in health tourism nationwide, which was recognized at the 2022 Tianguis Turístico, hence which was chosen as the venue.

“We want to promote this new way of working, an efficient, safe and, above all, of great quality, in terms of medical services,” he said, while concluding that New City Hospital will be formally inaugurated on October 27th.
