El Chavo del 8 was a popular Mexican television sitcom that aired from 1971 to 1980. The show was created by and starred Roberto Gómez Bolaños, a Mexican actor, comedian, and writer. Gómez Bolaños played the titular character, El Chavo, a poor orphan who lived in a barrel in a low-income housing community.
In a formal ceremony headed by the Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, the inauguration of the first international flight from Phoenix, Arizona to Tijuana, Baja California operated by the airline American Airlines, took place with the arrival of the plane at exactly 11:42 am.
