Companies in Tijuana will allow the transmission of the matches of the Mexican team during the World Cup during working hours, so that employees can enjoy it without having to be absent from their day, reported the Tijuana Industry Human Resources Association (Arhitac).

According to Lic. Mayra Amézquita, head of Arhitac, they sampled 100 companies, their study showed that 67% of them will display the games at their facilities, while the other 30% were yet to define the options at the time that they were interviewed.

This decision was made because soccer is deeply rooted in Mexican culture at all levels, he said, and since it is a World Cup there is a high expectation among the people, so some companies will rent screens, put up tents or facilitate the dining room to watch the matches.

“What we seek is to try to make the collaborator feel that we value that interest and that the company provides the means regardless of whether this is during working hours,” declared the president of the Association.

In addition, he said that most of these companies will reach an agreement with the workers to modify their rest schedules, since they want them not to feel the need to be absent the whole day. This will definitely have an impact on production, he said, but it will also benefit people as they will feel valued and appreciated, and in case the team wins they will return to their work with great enthusiasm.

“As a company, it is always important to support this type of event that represents our country worldwide, and to support the culture of this beautiful sport so that our people can have a good time,” concluded the head of Arhitac.
