Would you dare to walk through corridors full of haunted objects, look face to face with a possessed doll or explore an abandoned prison where you can still hear wailing in the dark? If you are a lover of mystery, horror and the supernatural, this article is for you. Prepare your senses and your courage, because we are going to tour the creepiest paranormal and horror museums on the planet. Don’t say we didn’t warn you…
1. The Warren’s Occult Museum – Connecticut, USA
This is the holy grail of paranormal terror. Founded by the famous investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (yes, the ones from The Conjuring movies), this museum is home to some of the most dangerous and cursed objects ever documented. There lives the original and feared Annabelle doll, locked in a blessed display case and constantly watched over. The museum has been closed to the general public since 2019, but its legend continues to grow. The best (or worst) part? Several visitors are said to have felt presences or suffered strange accidents after visiting the place….
2. Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum – Las Vegas, USA
If you’ve ever seen Ghost Adventures, you know Zak Bagans, who turned a 1938 mansion into a paranormal horror museum. Here you’ll find more than 30 themed rooms, each more intense than the last: the exorcism chair, Dr. Kevorkian’s car, the Dybbuk box (cursed Jewish object), and even fragments of the original staircase from The Demon House case. The energy is so heavy that some visitors have left crying, vomiting or even fainting. This museum is not for the faint of heart… literally.
3. Torture Museum – Amsterdam, Netherlands
Not exactly paranormal, but this museum is so macabre that it deserves to be on this list. The Torture Museum shows you the cruelest instruments of punishment ever created by mankind: spiked interrogation chairs, stretching colts, masks of infamy, garrotes… The gloomy atmosphere, dark rooms and ambient sounds immerse you in an experience that many describe as chillingly real. Here, the real horror is what man has been able to do to man.
4. Tokyo Museum of Horror and the Paranormal – Japan
In the heart of Harajuku, Tokyo, hides a place that mixes technology with Japanese mysticism. This museum (part of an attraction called Daiba Haunted School) is inspired by urban legends and yokais – spirits from Japanese folklore. In addition to possessed objects and traditional dolls such as the terrifying Okiku, the experience includes special effects, interactive scenarios and even holograms. The scariest part? The mix of modernity and tradition turns every corner into a parallel dimension of pure fear.
5. London Wax Museum – Chamber of Horrors
The famous Madame Tussauds has a section that not everyone knows… and many prefer to avoid. The Chamber of Horrors recreates real crime scenes, with wax figures so detailed that they seem to move when you’re not looking at them. You’ll see historical serial killers like Jack the Ripper and victims with expressions so lifelike that your heart will race. Although it’s not a paranormal museum per se, this place manages to make you feel like you’re in the middle of a horror movie. Would you dare to go in alone?
6. Ghost Walk of York – City of York, England

York is known as one of the most haunted cities in the world, and this tour proves it. Surrounded by medieval buildings, the Ghost Walk of York offers a tour of the most famous paranormal cases in the region. What’s special here is that the guides are actors who act out true stories as you walk through dark, narrow rooms. It is said that the spirits of former prisoners and victims of the Black Death still haunt the place. What if one follows you home?
7. Museum of the Goblins – Huasca de Ocampo, Mexico

In the magical town of Huasca, Hidalgo, there is a place dedicated to elves and elemental creatures. The museum is surrounded by forests and it is said that strange phenomena occur there frequently. You will find figures, photos, letters from people who have had encounters with goblins and even mysterious footprints. Some visitors claim to have heard laughter or movements among the trees. The museum does not seek to scare you, but to connect with the mysticism of nature… but that does not make it any less disturbing.
8. The Catacombs of Paris

Beneath the glamorous streets of Paris lies a dark and silent labyrinth: the Catacombs, where the bones of more than six million people rest. This eerie subway ossuary runs through miles of tunnels filled with human skulls and bones, forming a landscape as terrifying as it is fascinating.
Some visitors are said to have felt strange presences, heard whispers… or even gotten lost in never-recorded passageways. A place where death is not the end, but the beginning of a chilling journey.
Do you dare to visit any of them?
These museums are not mere tourist attractions. They are doors to the inexplicable, where the historical is mixed with the paranormal, and the fictional with the terribly real. Visiting one of them will not only leave your skin crawling, but could change the way you see the world… and what lies beyond it.
And you, which of these places would you add to your travel bucket list, or do you prefer to stay out of the shadows?
