EL ZAPATON 2022

1 min read

We are a few days away from the 4th EL ZAPATON, an event (shoe drive) in which 1,000 children receive a $50 gift card from a prestigious shoe store.

Not only do they receive that, but their families (close to 700) also receive a grocery bag, backpacks with hygiene products, among other things.

Rafael García, one of the founding partners of La Revista Binacional, started this altruistic event 4 years ago, with 250 children.

Today, this event is organized together with San Ysidro Health and 1,000 children are now benefited.

It’s a team effort, from food donations from large San Diego County businesses, along with monetary donations from the community.

The volunteers who donate their time to organize and order everything that must be perfectly calculated are people who deserve all the respect and recognition.

This year, La Revista Binacional has the honor of participating and helping in such a beautiful event that is already expected every year by the families that need our help the most, especially these days.

If you would like to be part of this, here is the link where you can register and donate some of your money.

This December 10, 1000, children will be able to wear new little shoes and 700 families will be able to smile thanks to all the help we can provide as a community.

*UPDATE*

Message from SAN YSIDRO HEALTH:

Thank you, for your unconditional support and generosity in supporting SYHealth in meeting the needs of the communities we serve across San Diego County. Registration for our 2022 El Zapatón is officially closed, and all participating pediatric patients and their families have been confirmed.

You can still make a difference in the wellbeing of a child by donating today. Every bit helps make a lasting impact in the life of a child.
