Una vez más nuestra gran comunidad se une para lograr la meta de regalar 1,000 pares de zapatos a mil niños que los necesitan.
Hace 4 años comenzó este sueño de Rafael García, uno de los fundadores de La Revista Binacional, cuando decide regresarle a la comunidad todo el apoyo que el siempre ha tenido. Con la valiosa ayuda de San Ysidro Health, esto fue posible gracias al amor y servicio que tienen todos los de esta organización.
Se dieron 250 zapatos a 250 niños y así Rafael pudo comenzar una tradición en nombre de su madre Doña Enriqueta Soto García, quien lo educó a siempre agradecer y ayudar al próximo.
Los próximos años, los número incrementaron y ahora este 2022 se logró reunir lo suficiente para 1000 niños.
No solo fueron zapatos, sino despensas, artículos de higiene personal, libros, dulces y juguetes, entre otras cosas.
La entrega se hizo de manera auto-servicio “drive thru”, llegando al centro de San Ysidro Health cientos de familias con los niños felices de ser festejados en estas fechas.
La excelente labor de San Ysidro Health, la organización, la buena actitud de tanto voluntario junto con las donaciones y apoyo de todos en nuestra comunidad se pudo realizar el maravilloso y ya esperado anualmente “El Zapatón”.

Once again our great community comes together to achieve the goal of giving away 1,000 pairs of shoes to a thousand children in need. This dream of Rafael García, one of the founders of La Revista Binacional, began 4 years ago when he decided to give back to the community all the support he has always had.
With the valuable help of San Ysidro Health, this was possible thanks to the love and service that everyone in this organization has. 250 shoes were given to 250 children and thus Rafael was able to start a tradition in name of his mother Doña Enriqueta Soto García, who educated him to always give thanks and help others. 
In the next few years, the number of children in need increased, and now this 2022 it was possible to gather enough for 1000 children. It was not only shoes but groceries, personal hygiene items, books, sweets, and toys, among other things. The delivery was made in a self-service “drive-thru” manner, arriving at the San Ysidro Health center with hundreds of families with children happy to be celebrated this season.
The excellent work of San Ysidro Health, the organization, and the good attitude of so many volunteers, together with the donations and support of everyone in our community, made it possible to carry out the wonderful and amazing annual event “El Zapatón”.
