MAGNOLIA PROJECT “The People’s Choice Pantry”

Imperial Beach is now blessed with a No Cost Food Pantry where families can make an appointment to get free food and cooking classes.

Regina Gamboa, an inspiring woman of the South Bay Community, has been feeding the homeless for several years and has finally had her dream come true of having a restaurant and pantry to feed those in need.

The pantry has a charming “country store” feeling. It is so inviting and beautiful. There is something for everyone in the family, including pet products.

The back of the store has a professional kitchen where chefs teach all those that make an appointment and want to learn how to prepare healthy meals.

Produce is fresh, the variety is endless, and there is even an ethnic section of foods and special needs nutrition section.

The best part of the pantry? It lacks a cash register because everything is free.

As Regina Gamboa quoted Mother Theresa:

If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.

And that is exactly what she did.

La Revista Binacional, alongside elected government officials Chairwoman Nora Vargas and Mayor Paloma Aguirre, as well as collaborating sponsors and community members, got to witness the cutting of the ribbon of this beautiful place.

We hope to see more places like this all over our community. Hunger is something that nobody should ever have to suffer. Together we can help.
